I’m sure I’m not telling you anything new when I say that finding plus-size clothing in New Zealand can be incredibly difficult. If what’s available isn’t super expensive, it’s as flattering as my grandmother’s curtains (and fits just as awkwardly!), or there are so few options (maybe a t-shirt here, or a pair of pants there…).

I wanted to be able to buy from somewhere that felt sort of like a vintage boutique, stocked with curve-friendly second-hand gems... but one that sold new items, too. I wanted to be able to buy from somewhere that supplied a BUNCH of different larger labels (City Chic! Torrid! Missguided!)… and I also wanted to be able to buy from somewhere that was New Zealand-based, because nobody likes paying exorbitant shipping prices, or waiting a week for their order to arrive!

But I couldn’t find a shop like that in New Zealand. And hey, maybe I just wasn’t having the best luck with Google that day, but I couldn’t even locate an international website which combined the best bits of shopping, and offered it in a size 14+.

So, I created one.

www.curatedcurves.com is an online, plus-size treasure trove of new and preloved clothing in sizes 14+. All items are in excellent – new condition (I only pick the good stuff, I promise!), and are shipped via tracked courier delivery.
